Sites around Vienna

Strauss

Kayleen and I were fortunate to attend a very small, intimate concert of Stauss and Mozart. It was great! We had front row seats and so your next got a little stiff, but the music was lovely. This is Stadt Park in Vienna and this is a statue of Strauss. We walked through this park on our way back to our hotel.

St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna

So many churches and so little time! This church is from 1831 - see the roof top? It is in the center of Vienna shopping area. Quite a crowd gathers here.

The Belvedere in Vienna

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

The royal "goodies"

The green to the left is solid jade and it is the largest piece of uncut jade in the world and it was used to hold SALT!

The crypt tour in Vienna

This was one of the most amazing crypts I have ever seen! This is the crypt of the Habsburg Family - Franz Josef, Sisi, Marie Therese, etc. These crypts are created in the room where they are as they weigh tons! This is below the St. Augustin Church in Vienna.

Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna

This is the Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna. This was one of the residences of the Habsburg Family. Just a little shack! This was one of the homes of Maria Therese. Also Franz Josef was born and died here. He married Elizabeth, the beloved "Sisi". Sisi is huge in Vienna. Very interesting history.
