Put another shrimp on the Barbe

Okay, so we had BBQ hamburgers, not shrimp - Allen and Rick barbecued hamburgers.
Thanks Misty and Rick for a great meal on our last night.

BATS!! Flying Foxes - thousands of them

In the Botanical Garden Kym and I found bats hanging from all the trees - we had seen them fly from Misty and Rick's apartment by the thousands - these are large flying foxes. I got so excited when I saw them hanging in the trees. I have never seen anything like it. We had to walk Allen and Misty back to the park on another day just to see them - so interesting to watch. Who knew I liked bats?

The cutest thing happened ~

We were looking at the koalas when out of the momma's pouch came her baby - we were standing right there. The park people hadn't even seen this baby yet - we watched this with great excitement. The baby came out looked around and then starting crawling up the mom's back until he rested his head on hers - it was so cute. It was maybe 3-4 months old. The park people were so excited and started taking pictures right along with us.

Just to make you laugh -

The blue suit is a stinger suit to protect me from jellyfish. The life jacket is to save my life - also the man behind me is there to save my life - right! Do they know there are sharks out there? I didn't see a suit to protect me from those. Does anyone else think I look like Daffy Duck or Daisy Duck? Well, I am glad you had a giggle, but I have swam in the Great Barrier Reef - check mark!

The best shot I could get at the Great Barrier Reef

The water was so turbulent that I couldn't swim very long - I am a new snorkeler and I got scared out there by myself all alone - I took this shot from the mini sub.
