Today I am grateful that -
1. Misty invited us up to see Piper's primary program. It was so sweet! Piper was up on the stand just raising her hand as high as she could to wave to her family. She is such a cutie!
2. Great to hear Misty play the piano in Relief Society! I am so grateful that she continues to challenge herself in this - she is very talented.
3. Met someone at Misty's church (actually a wife and husband) and I had worked with them at the Torrance Marriott. It was good to see them. I had forgotten that she had worked for me in PBX. That is a little concerning that I didn't remember that right off the bat - I am going to take that as a fluke this time. I don't remember her being Mormon either. Hmmm - anyway, she seemed pleased to see me. I think I was always a pretty nice boss to my staff. I hope so anyway.
4. Nice and sunny outside and I sat out and read a book for a while and caught a tiny nap!
5. Rob and Kathe coming for dinner tonight. Allen is making tacos! Yum!!

Saturday, November 12th
Thanks for the following:
1. Got to my quilting class in plenty of time to set up for myself and then when the lady with all the plugs, mats, irons and ironing boards showed up I was able to set those up. This will be my new job next year - every 2nd Saturday of the month I will be in a class. For setting the class room up I get free classes! Yeah for me!
2. Grateful to the lady, Joanie Wolf, who I met at the retreat and got to know quite well is going to be my new "boss" for the classes. She told me she was so thrilled that I had volunteered to be on the board. Another of her friends came over later and said how excited Joanie was to be working with me. It's going to be a great year!
3. Got home in time to clean up the "craft rooms" to get them ready for two little munchkins that were put to bed at our house and then their Mom and Dad came and "kidnapped" them in the middle of the night. Piper was so funny! She had to have a ten minute snuggle with Poppa Allen before she could go to sleep. I love that.
4. Got things ready for dinner on Sunday.
5. Heard from my friend, Stephanie in Vernazza. Things are moving along there.

Thursday, November 10th -
1. Grateful that I got to sleep in just an additional 30 minutes. I would have taken 10, but 30 was awesome.
2. Had lunch with a client that I have been "friending" for the hotel and when we met she gave me a book that she had written. I was over the top excited and immediately asked her to autograph it for me, which she had already done! I thanked her about 10 times. So sweet.
3. Got off early from work and got to go see the new knitting store and said hello! Didn't buy (that is where I am grateful, I have to much yarn right now.)
4. Went to Michael's and bought some transfer paper to make labels for the things I am making.
5. Off to my quilting guild with Kayleen and her Mom! Saturday I am taking a class! So much fun! Aren't I one lucky lady? Yes, I am!

Wednesday, November 9th - Gratitude
1. This morning my sink was severly clogged and my very handy (and handsome) hubby cleared it out for me. It was thick with black goop! Nasssssty! He is so handy and just always jumps right to whatever I need.
2. I am grateful that I have the confidence to deal with a problem (phone problems at work) and able to reach out to people that I have built relationship with to help me resolve the problem for my hotel. Not quite finish with the problem yet, but getting there.
3. I told two ladies at work today about the gratitude journal and how it really makes your outlook quite different. One lady cleared my plate and she said, "there now you have something else to be grateful for." I gave a beautiful pink striped blouse to the other lady and she emailed me and said: "Just wanted to say thank you!!!!! That is a really nice shirt, and I know you won't take money from me..
But just so you know, you need to make another list: "how many people were grateful to me today" !:) I'm sure you would beat records:)" I am very happy that I gave this blouse to someone so grateful.
4. Read the story of the grandfather in Vernazza saving his son and his family in the mudslide and it just tore my heart open. Such a sacrifice to save his son and grandchild and daughter-in-law. I am very grateful for strong people like this. God bless him and his family.
5. It seems I am reading a lot of stories about personal tragedy, such as friends with cancer, friend's mother has breast cancer, etc. I am just so thankful that we have been so blessed throughout our family. Truly we have been blessed! I am very grateful to my Heavenly Father for these blessings.

November 8th - Tuesday
1. Today has been a weird day! I have less than 2 dozen days left to work and I am trying to have a positive attitude. So let me just say I am grateful that I am retiring soon.
2. Got to work on some cute Christmas gifts.
3. Had Carl's Jr. with Allen tonight - date night!
4. Working on some handwork, that I have always thought I would hate, but I am finding greater appreciation for it. Kind of fun! Who knew?
5. Found some fabric for my quilt class magically! So grateful for that. I walked into the new quilt shop and she was cutting out fabric that I just loved for her personal quilt. I told her give me 1/2 yard of everything you have on the table! There was my quilt fabric. Awesome!

November 7th - So thankful
1. Grateful that I have the guts to walk away from a purchase when it just doesn't feel like what I really want. Spent about an hour looking at fabric for a new quilt. I wanted to buy it at Luella's as it was 35% off, but nothing was singing to my heart. I put all the bolts back and left.
2. Grateful for tasty leftovers.
3. Good night cleaning up my sewing room.
4. Two good books - one about a family that I know personally. Very interesting. The other is getting good too. A hot bath and a good book.
5. Cut a down comforter shorter and didn't have duck down all over the place! So grateful!
