Our trip to Manteca~

Misty and I drove Friday after Thanksgiving to Nan and Chad's house. We had a little "fun" on the way up as we got a flat tire! But it did not dampen our spirits. We got the tire changed and then had to buy a new one. We did it! We got to Nan and Chad's in time for dinner. Nan had made gingerbread houses for Chad's family to do on Thanksgiving and she made an extra for the kids to do together. It was so much fun! Unfortunately I had a small camera that did not take great photos, but here they are. We also visited the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield, California which is always a "treat"! Emma played the piano and guitar and sang. Then Piper wanted to play the instruments, so it looks like she is playing the piano for the group. Piper just loved her cousins and didn't want to leave. When we got in the car she asked, "if they would still love her." Geat fun to get them together. Simon was just running around and loving all the attention.
We played the game called Quelf and we had about a 20 minute laughing session! My ribs hurt the next day! Thanks Hunter family for all the fun and thanks Misty for driving up.

I realize how blessed I am

November 25th -

My biggest blessing this day is my son Mark! Okay, just with that sentence I choke up! Mark has been a constant blessing since he was born. He was an amazingly good child growing up and he continues being an amazingly good young man (I have to say young man or I will really sound old). He is a super Father and a supportive and kind husband, from what I see. Mark has always supported me and he has always been loving and understanding in my times of need. He was always so kind to his grandparents and they loved him more than I think he realizes. They were also so very proud of him. A mother truly could not ask for a better son than Mark. I was blessed to have him first to be a brother to his sisters and he has always been there for them. I love you so much Mark! Happy Birthday, Mark and Happy Thanksgiving!

November 24th -
1. Having my fingers and toes done! Such a simple spoiling that I love so much.
2. Sending my camera in for repair AND buying an upgrade - how spoiled am I? Don't answer that!
3. Buying tickets to Italy, unfortunately about an hour too late, but they are purchased! Ciao!
4. The house being clean!
5. Getting ready to go to Nan's house with Misty and kids - such fun! Can't wait!

November 23rd -
1. Grateful for good friends at work.
2. Not coughing all day.
3. Honest conversations with family members and sweet understanding and same heart!
4. My very healthy family - we have been so very blessed with all the kids and grandkids.
5. Getting a free room in Rome! Yeah!

Misty is getting her inheritance early?

This was my Mom's china set and I have enjoyed them for years. Now that we aren't entertaining as much I asked Misty if she would like Grandma's dishes. She said yes! So here is the handoff! Enjoy! Grandma Dody would be thrilled that you love them so!

Gratitude continues

November 22nd -
1. Very grateful today for my grand-daughter, Emma! She is sweet 16 today and not too many girls can you actually say they are "sweet 16" but she truly is a sweetheart! She is gorgeous inside and out! She is smart! Athletic! Gracious to her peers! And on top of that has an amazing singing voice. I love her so very much! Happy Birthday, Emma! Can't wait to see you on Friday!
2. Actually went to work and almost completed a full day's work. Lots of people at work are sick - hmmm, wonder where I got it from.
3. I had been working on a quilt that had leftover pieces from a quilt I made for Simon. I was going to make it for Hadley, but Misty pointed out that it was too boyish, so I thought I would just finish it and auction it off. Then I remembered that through our quilt quild we are suppose to donate at least one quilt a year. These quilts are donated to the Veteran's Hospital for the veterans or their families. This quilt is red and blue except for one yellow pinwheel and I like the thought that this one pinwheel is special and stands out - so I decided tonight that I am going to donate this to the Veteran's Hospital and I hope they find a special little boy that is "special and stands out" and he can get warm hugs from our family!
4. Okay, a from that last post I am all emotional and grateful for the little children that have had to sacrifice their Moms and Dads in these wars. I hope they know that we love them all and are grateful for their sacrifices.
5. Grateful that Misty and her kids and I are are driving up to see Nan and her kids this weekend. How fun!

November 21st -
1. Went to Urgent Care today for the cold and my face is all broken out with pimples and so I made a "twofer" call - Two reasons for one doctor. Nasal spray - cough syrup and facial cream - awesome!
2. Allen went and picked up all my prescriptions and put me back to bed - how I love this man!
3. Slept and knitted all day!
4. Went to be at 6 p.m. and slept until 7 a.m.
5. Being humbled - very humbled!

November 20th - Still dealing with this cold
1. A good night sleep - thank you.
2. A friend who has breast cancer (again) emails me to tell me she hopes I am feeling better soon - okay I have the little "c" (cold) and she has the big "c" cancer and SHE is emailing me? Does that put things into perspective for me - smack - slap and smack again.
3. I am grateful that when Simon sees us he makes us feel like we are just the best thing in the world. Too cute! It is just so fun to have the little ones live so close now.
4. Gave Misty my Mom's china today and took a picture of Misty and I along with a photo of Grandma Dody for posterity. Tried to get Piper in the photo because one day those dishes could be hers, but she was tired. I thought I would be more broken up about handing over Mom's china, but it just felt so right! I am thrilled that Misty has them as her Grandma loved her so very much!
5. Got to work on some sewing projects for Christmas - very fun!

November 19th - Glad this cold is almost gone~
1. Slept in until 9:30 a.m.
2. Got up and got the house cleaned and vacuumed - feels good.
3. Allen took me to look at new cameras and/or see if mine can be fixed.
4. Another good nap this afternoon.
5. Going to Harry Potter with some friends from work.

November 18th -
1. Good night's sleep but stayed in bed all day.
2. Grateful for my phone that I can watch travel videos on while I am getting over my cold.
3. Grateful for the link Allen sent me with travel videos.
4. Cough syrup with codeine, hot apple cider and a warm blanket and soft bed.
5. Pleasant sleep -

November 17th -
1. Grateful that my bosses were gone today so I could really catch up on some work I wanted to do.
2. Grateful that our last CMN fundraiser is over and I just have the quilt to raffle off on the 1st.
3. Grateful that I got to go home early as I have a bit of a cold.
4. Allen had a warm blanket waiting for me when I go home.
5. Long nap and the a long sleep and then a long nap again - 18 hours! Didn't beat Misty's record.

Our trip to Seattle to meet the newest great grand-daughter, Madelyn~

We made a quick trip up to Seattle to meet our newest great grand-daughter, Madelyn! She was as cute as a bug (as you can see!) I even got to babysit her for a couple of hours and that was great, as she is a cuddle bug too! We also got to see lots of the family too! That was awesome! Good to re-connect again. Love you all so much!
